Project: Bathroom Revamp

One of the major things I want to do this year is to revamp our main bathroom. It’s the only room in our house that hasn’t had so much as a lick of paint since we moved in almost seven years ago, and is looking decidedly tired. To be honest, I am not sure it’s been really redecorated since new. The paint seems to still be the chalky first coat type paint. The previous owners put up lovely blinds, but I want to spruce it up and make it more me, really. Naturally, as with a lot of the things I want to do in my plan to Become Awesome, it is rather dependent on me making a success of my business plan – although I don’t plan to do anything as grand as fit a new bathroom suite, or transform the bathroom into a tropical all-singing, all-dancing wetroom, all the little things add up!

luxury bathroomDon’t get me wrong, if money was no object my bathroom revamp would involve fitting a monsoon shower, retiling, changing the sink and having new floor. But, much to the relief of Mr, my plans are more low-key. Still, a girl can dream, right? However, in the interests of keeping the family home a happy place, and the family finances somewhere near healthy, I intend to spruce up our littlest room on a budget – and I plan to stick to a maximum spend of £200. Got to love a challenge!

beautiful bathroomI have set up a Pinterest board for bathroom inspiration and I’d love you to add any suggestions for how to revamp a bathoom on a budget. I plan to trawl my local Facebook selling pages as well as Ebay. I am hoping to achieve a vintage-style bathroom, with Georgian blue walls and white or cream accessories. Watch this space…

It’s just a bit bland – white walls, with black and red and white blind. Just a bit tired and in need of a good freshen up. I’m partway through the makeover, so should be posting before and after pics soon 🙂
