Having two children, that means I need to provide two donations to the local harvest supper auction, so my second was this harvest allotment cake. With carrots, beetroot, parsnips, cauliflower, cabbages and potatoes, there is something for everyone (all made from fondant icing, of course). This could be made from any dense-ish sponge (carrot cake or chocolate beetroot would be very fitting) but so as to appeal to more people I used a vanilla sponge with a traditional jam and butter icing filling.
