Made for my son’s 8th birthday, this Liverpool football shirt cake is made from madeira sponge. I shaped the square cakes into a shirt shape, stacked them with his favourite jam filling, and coated the cake with a vanilla buttercream frosting before using fondant icing to add the decoration and detail. Naturally this design can be adapted to suit any team’s colours, and is perfect for any aspiring footie fan.
