We had a glorious walk in Borrowdale today, around Castle Crag in the sunshine, and admiring the views. It’s a stunning walk, with some interesting steep bits (although they wouldn’t let me climb to the proper top – that’s what you get for walking with a couple of injured men and two small children).
The children loved climbing up a few rocky parts and splashing in various streams, and it was just the right length for them – not so long they got too tired, but long enough to make it interesting. We found a nice spot for a picnic, and had another stop to paddle in the river, before getting an ice cream at the cafe on the way back to the car.
All in all, we had a lovely day, and a great start to Spring. Must get the boys some proper walking shoes though…
