“Winter Rays” 4th February 2011

I know my photo today is rubbish, and do you know what? I don’t care one jot.

This is a photo of something I have been looking forward to for a very long time, and I was seriously overjoyed to get it today (and to have coffee with the photographer, too, of course). It’s taken from Bowfell, looking at the Langdale Pikes, early on January morning, and I just utterly love it. I had intended it to go in the bedroom, but I couldn’t bring myself to put it out of the way where I would only see it first thing in the morning and last thing at night, so I had a last minute change of plan and now it has pride of place above the sofa.

What do you think? Pretty stunning?

And in case you didn’t know, it’s taken by Stewart Smith – and everyone should have one of his photos on their wall (but not this one, because this is one of a kind).
